Hello everyone,
Jaynee and I are really looking forward to celebrating our wedding with you at Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat across the weekend of 29th–31st May 2026. We are keeping this as an intimate micro wedding with around 50–60 guests, made up of our closest family and friends
For those arriving on Friday, check-in is from 3:00pm, giving everyone time to settle in, unpack, and ease into the weekend. Friday evening will be simple and relaxed, with a BBQ dinner and drinks — the idea is to catch up properly, enjoy the venue, and start the celebrations early. Across the weekend, food is well covered. On Saturday morning we will organise a light breakfast, mainly pastries and easy options, before the wedding celebrations begin. For the main event on Saturday, we have organised a catering package with local wedding experts - Rabbit & Co. Service will typically offer a mix of canapé-style service, grazing platter and larger meals containing all dietary options to cover all bases. On Sunday morning, we will finish the weekend with a breakfast BBQ — something hearty and simple before everyone heads off. When it comes to drinks, we have you covered. Bottled water, soft drinks and juice will be supplied, plus spirits including vodka, gin and bourbon, along with beer and wine.
Accommodation is on site, and we’d love the weekend to feel like a shared stay together. Rooms are $590 per room for the weekend, set up as two people per room, with the option to request a cot if needed. Rooms are arranged in blocks of five, with a shared kitchenette in each block.
Jaynee and I will allocate rooms/blocks and share a floor plan closer to the date, so everyone knows where they are staying and who they are near.
A quick note on the grounds: the venue is beautiful and set within the bush, and accessibility can be supported (wheelchairs are available for those who need them). Some areas around the cathedral and viewing platform are a little more “off road”, so it may be worth packing an alternative pair of shoes for moving around the property comfortably.
There is also plenty to do across the weekend outside of the formal wedding moments. On site there is a swimming pool, table tennis, foosball and other games (including giant Jenga). If you feel like exploring, Kangaroo Valley itself offers local shopping and sightseeing as a result of the many cool towns nearby, as well as hiking, bush walking, golfing and kayaking. Children are more than welcome — we just ask that you let us know in advance so we can plan accommodation and catering appropriately.
Finally, for departure, check-out on Sunday is 1:00pm, which should allow time for breakfast, a slow morning, and packing up before heading home. If you haven’t already, the main things we still need from you as soon as you can are whether you are staying for the full weekend or Saturday only, any dietary requirements, any accessibility needs, and whether you are bringing children (including ages), as this helps us finalise the logistics properly.
Looking forward to seeing you all on our special day!
- Daniel & Jaynee.
Q1) What time should I arrive on Friday?
Check-in opens at 3:00pm Friday. If you arrive later, that is completely fine—just plan for a relaxed evening BBQ at around 6-7pm.
Q2) What time do we need to leave on Sunday?
Check-out is 1:00pm Sunday. This gives everyone time for breakfast, a slow morning, and packing up.
Q3) Can rooms be booked for just 1 night?
No, all bookings are for a minimum of 2 nights. We would love for guests to stay Friday–Sunday. However, you are welcome to come for Saturday and stay one night if that works better for you.
Q4) What is included in the catering on Saturday?
We have booked catering with local wedding experts - Rabbit & Co. A mix of canapes will be supplied to guests after the ceremony on the beautiful sunset deck overlooking the valley. A three-course dinner will be provided to all guests containing dietary options to suit all guests. A late-night feed will be provided to all guests in case anyone has the 10pm munchies.
Q5) Can I bring my own alcohol / drinks?
We will be supplying drinks for the wedding. If there are specific alcohol or non-alcoholic preferences you’d like available, feel free to let us know.
Q6) Will there be bar staff?
Yes. Bar staff will be on site serving drinks to all guests on Saturday until 12am. Self-serve after 12am. Self-serve on Friday and Sunday as well.
Q7) What should I wear?
Please plan for a formal bush setting – if that even exists? Due to some “rocky” conditions, consider bringing comfortable footwear alternatives for walking around the grounds.
Q8) What should I pack?
A helpful starting point:
• Comfortable shoes (and a second pair if you prefer)
• A change of clothing and warm layer for evenings
• Swimwear (if you’d like to use the pool)
• Any personal essentials
Q9) Can I bring my children?
Yes—children are welcome. Please tell us in advance (including ages), so we can plan rooms and catering.
